But, after using up those 3 free credits, how does one go about getting more? That information is rather elusive.

Sure, it’s nice that once an episode is unlocked by a credit, it will remain unlocked for all devices. And, credits don’t expire. But, what if someone wants more nbc.com credits?

This blog post investigates how to get more credits. When we find more info, we will post it here.

The FAQs about credits doesn’t reveal how to get more, yet.

One Way to Get More Credits

(Update 9/03/18) I asked nicely on Twitter and got an answer from @NBCSupport

Screen Shot 2018-09-13 at 5.04.50 PM

In a private direct message, I sent my email via DM and someone from their team said:

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. Because you posted such a great tweet, we’ve added 10 more credits to your account. Happy watching!

Your mileage may vary. Thank you NBC!

For the record, also tried to contact NBC via their contact form. I did get an automated email from Zendesk. But I have not yet received any replies.

    • Mgminstrell – Just found the answer, woohoo! Added an update to end of blog post. May the odds ever be with you.

  1. No update at the end of the blog post as far as I can see. The last words of the blog: “For the record, also tried to contact NBC via their contact form. I did get an automated email from Zendesk. But I have not yet received any replies.” If you added more to the blog, perhaps you signed out before saving or publishing the changes.

    • Dave, thanks for your comment. Please read the section above the last paragraph, titled -> One Way to Get More Credits (Update 9/03/18)

  2. uh…. tweeting them (don’t have an account) and hoping they just give you more credits is not a real answer. I don’t understand why we can’t just pay for them. One of my PET PEEVES on the NBC APP is the so called “watch for free” yeah…. if you pay a “provider” a monthly fee! If I HAD cable or direct tv or whatever I’d watch my shows on there and tivo or DVR them. But no. I “cut the cord” because I only like to watch select shows. Sometimes I’ll go months without watching TV. I can understand they want to “pay” for the shows somehow but if I miss a show it is only unlocked a very short time. For example I HAVE season 1 of This is Us – I’d Like to watch season 2… but I missed some shows so I’d have to watch through the app. All of season 1 and half of season 2 are locked! I don’t care if I have to pay 1 or 2 dollars a credit I should be able to buy/earn more credits at the very least (but then my viewing better darn skippy be ad free) So I’m sorry but you really didn’t answer the question. (and IMHO this post shouldn’t exist if it doesn’t really provide an answer – sorry. 😦 )

  3. I also don’t tweet but may try to email them. Last season I watched all the NBC I wanted via my Roku, with the new season I can’t and I’m limited to watching only three using credits? Is this something new ? I don’t recall any episodes being locked last year, at least not on the shows I watch. I watch ALL of the Chicago shows. I’ve cut the cable so no tv provider. Guess I won’t be watching if everything is locked.

    • I’ve written a script to get credits. It is working. I can increase your credits in the app. I want to sell those credits. It is not a scam pay me only if you can see a credit on your side. I need money for my new project. Feel free to text me at realwinchester@icloud.com
Will not be available all the time. I do check my texts once in a day and process them so do not rush. Don’t spread this over because If NBC got to know this they will close this adjustment. When you DM me all you gotta provide is email which is associated to nbc account.

      Regards,
      RW

  4. From the app TOS.
tl;dr: NBC has verbiage in place within the TOS that references paid subscriptions. Users are agreeing to the terms of paid accounts already.
There is no link to subscribe or information about how to cancel. Maybe… hopefully… this is them getting prepared to launch a subscription option.

  5. I figured out how to unlock the lastest epidode. All I did was link your tv provider to your profile. You will have to supply your e=mail and password you use to enter tv provider website.

  6. Hey NBC I jus wanna say I love all the shows each and every one ! I live in a small town in My where cable is not available so all I have to watch is my phone I’m obsessed with all the Chicago series I’m a stay at home mother of 3 my alone time consists when the babies are at school I’m out of credits and I’m wondering how to go about getting more! NBC is my favorite channel! THANK YOU for creating such great shows !! God Bless and have a wonderful day!
    # Faithfully yours
    # bored # NEED credits please #♥️ NBC ,
    AMANDA

  7. I just want more credits NBC!! Why do you have to make it so difficult? I’m not watching my current episodes just to hold on to my credits.

  8. WTF. So I have to tag NBC and tweet something about how to get more credits to get more credits? . LOL

  9. How come when use a credit it only lets you watch 1 week show and not the whole season my girlfriend watches dsys of or life and it don’t use credits i use 1 credit to watch titan games but now i have to use another one to watch the following week

  10. The amount of stupid in the comment section here is just unfathomable. The people who think this blog is NBC?! Holy shhh. And the Karen who is mad that the question wasn’t answered? Wow. Makes me think, these are the type of people who aren’t wearing masks right now.

  11. I resent that SYFY only informed me of the need for credits after I already watched 1 episode of a series. I would not have started it if I had known there was an issue like this where, if you want to buy credits, you can’t! I’m so glad that I didn’t use the 3 free credits to watch 3 more episodes because then I’d be hooked on the show with no way to continue.

  12. Hey, so I think I found the answer. NBC launched their streaming service called Peacock, of which SYFY is part of NBC. So if you want to stream Resident Alien or some other stuff, look into peacock.com if it has what you’re after. Right now the base subscription is about $5/month. I know it’s not “credits” you could buy one-off. But it’s as close as I can find.
